Since the Covid-19 outbreak, Louby Lou's have been on hand to support your children. We are in a strange and unusual time, but that doesn't mean we have to stop feeding those all important imaginations.
We have adjusted our usual storytelling approach to produce a unique online platform that has both creative learning and fun at its heart. Although we can not see your little ones in person right now, we have still managed to include a whole heap of interactive elements that captivate and engage primary school aged children.
Alongside exploring skills such as literacy, numeracy and oracy, our online platform also aims to continue the exploration of confidence, imaginative and social skills.
Although you will need a device of some form to watch our online sessions, we are VERY conscious that children must learn away from the screens too. That is why we always provide you with follow on activities to explore in the home that step away from electronic devices and simply tap into the imagination instead.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Jump into a different story each week with our exciting, interactive videos. These videos are around 35 minutes in duration and are designed to get your child active, engaged and using their imagination. They will meet characters, solve problems and most importantly, have lots of fun. Educational activities are weaved into the story line and we always provide you with creative learning tasks that are a direct link to the story, so that you can further explore in the home. This is our most popular online service to date!
Each Thursday in term time, we run a free and live creative writing workshop that links directly to the theme of our online story. In each workshop, we explore a number of storytelling building blocks including characters, settings and plots. We use creative techniques to help stretch imaginations and these workshops are also highly interactive. The aim is to plant a little seed into your child's brain that will allow them to develop their story further once the workshop has come to an end.
Louby Lou Class
This brand new and exciting service will be launched for the Summer Term. Here, you will be able to find specific learning objectives and educational tasks that you would like your child to focus or improve on. We will give you access to short, but detailed content that follows our creative learning ethos and again, this content will be highly engaging and interactive. There will be different levels for different ages and you can explore everything from numeracy with Pirates to literacy with Goldilocks.
Throughout our weekly schedule, we also like to throw in a number of special events for your children to enjoy. Sometimes, we partner up with our amazing venues or other children's suppliers to bring you exclusive content and other times we just like to throw a party! As much as we love using storytelling as an educational tool, we also know that home-schooling and lockdown life in general can be pretty tough. That is why we also like to use our storytelling to keep your munchkins entertained.
The kids love watching and playing along with the story adventures and I love seeing their imagination working. It's the little bits of math or puzzles that are in each one, that add the extra educational element and learning through play. It helps me too, as it gives me something to work with for the rest of the day and the suggestions at the end of each video are so helpul.

We can't thank you enough for what you do. My two absolutely love watching all of your shows and look forward to their 'Louby Lou' time. They get so involved in the stories and love doing activities after. They loved the Pirate and Jack & The Beanstalk stories most of all. We now have pictures of giants plastered all over our living room walls! Thanks again for capturing the imagination of our little ones.

We have loved joining in every week to your wonderful stories. My 7 and 4 year old both love every second. The stories are exciting, physical, have repetitive elements which is good for language development, mathematical elements and fun. A great recipe for learning We have been very lucky that some of the stories have coincided with work sent home from nursery. They have also provided 30mins where mum is able to catch up on emails from work and drink a hot cup of tea.
